    Triphala

Triphala, a combination of three herbs popular in ayurvedic medicine, has been in the news recently, and here’s why.
Triphala (the three fruits amla, harad and behada) has long been considered an important medicine in Ayurveda because it balances all three doshas, vata, pitta and kapha. It is light and dry in properties, and of sweet, sour, pungent, bitter and astringent taste. Because it contains five of the six tastes, it controls food cravings.Triphala is considered to be the best medicine for preventing the aging process. It nourishes and rejuvenates bodily tissues, boost the immune system and detoxifies the whole system. It can be used long term as part of a daily routine to cleanse the body of accumulated wastes, also for energy, constipation, indigestion or flatulence. Triphala is anti-inflammatory and anti-viral. It can be used for eye problems, such as conjunctivitis, for skin inflammations, such as acne and boils, and as a mouthwash for bleeding gums.
