Ginger
Ginger is now recognized in western medicine as being a natural anti-inflammatory agent beneficial in the treatment of arthritis and minor aches and pains, nausea and motion sickness. In TCM it is considered warm/yang in property and is used to dispel pathogenic cold problems in winter time and also those caused in summer from working in air conditioning. Ginger is considered suitable for balancing vata and kapha doshas in Ayurveda. Taken with lime juice, sugar or salt, ginger is a popular Indian remedy for heat stroke. Other uses for ginger include:
poor digestion
boosting circulation
flatulence, colic or indigestion relief
blood sugar reduction
increasing perspiration
soothing menstrual pain
reducing sinusitis and sore throats

Although ginger can be taken in pill or powder form, it is best taken fresh, as nature intended, in thin slices, or in its most gentle form, as a tea. Pour boiling water over fresh slices of ginger and steep for 15 minutes, or put ginger and water into a saucepan and simmer for 15 minutes before straining and drinking.
Remember to take ginger in moderation and only as and when needed.
