Food cravings
In TCM the five tastes (spicy, salty, sour, bitter and sweet) reflect the condition of the five organs (lungs, kidneys, liver, heart and spleen). Eating foods predominantly containing only one or two tastes can be a sign of a problem on an emotional level, as well as a physical level. For example, if someone has a constant craving for foods with a sweet taste, this may indicate a qi deficiency in the spleen and stomach, a problem which may be caused by excessive worry.
