Acupuncture has been receiving high praises from many famous celebrities, including Jim Carey, Elle Macpherson, and even Sarah Michelle Gellar’s dog. Sandra Bullock announced that she receives three acupuncture treatments a week. Mariah Carey and Celine Dion attribute their pregnancy to acupuncture. Now I am not saying you have to live like a celebrity, certainly they are not always role models, but you could take a bit of advice from them and help yourself live a more balanced life through “tune-up” acupuncture treatments. I am in know way advocating emptying your life savings to afford high frequency treatments, but I am strongly recommending an occasional (monthly or at least seasonally) acupuncture session to help keep things running smoothly.
Many of my patients come in for specific health issues and soon realize that they are feeling better in other areas of their body and life. Once their main health issues resolve the patients that tend to stay healthiest come in once a month or season for treatment. During these regular monthly or seasonal treatments patients can address all their little health issues that if left unchecked become big problems. These tune-up treatments allow us to work on the mild allergy symptoms or help ease some tension out of your shoulders. This will lead to less severe symptoms in the future. All of which means a happier, healthier lifestyle. Sometimes I tell patients, “Just because your car is running fine doesn’t mean you shouldn’t change the oil.”
Remember the old adage, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” and keep regular tune-up appointments.
