    Large Intestine Meridian Massage

In TCM, the lungs and large intestine are paired yin/yang organs. If you are having respiratory problems caused by colds and flu, you may also be feeling stopped up in your colon. Massaging the large intestine meridian will help relieve sinus problems, nasal congestion, headaches, itchy skin, constipation and other intestinal complaints. Mentally, this massage may help with negative thinking, dependency issues and an inability to release and move on in life.

Start at LI 1 (Shangyang) and move in one direction to the end. Use your fingers, thumb or palm to apply gentle pressure along the entire meridian. Take your time and pay extra attention to any sore points along the meridian. Remember to massage meridians on both sides of the body. When you reach the end, massage LI 20 (Yingxiang) with thumb or finger, circling 36 times, for the relief of nasal or sinus congestion, and letting go of the past.
