Holiday moods

Although this is the Season for peace and love, we are only human, and sometimes, despite all our best attempts, it’s just too darn difficult to be happy all the time………when you are racing around trying to find the perfect gift for someone, or the latest toy or high tech gadget, which the store just happens to run out of right before you get there! And then there’s the cooking, catering to everyone’s dietary needs for those special family get togethers……….and the resentment, which you so desperately try to contain, of having to spend so much money that you can’t really afford, on a few days of the year when you could have taken a nice vacation in the sun instead……….but then there would be the guilt!!!
Well, if you do get a few minutes to sit down, relax, put up your feet and think peaceful thoughts, take note of what your body feels about all the negative emotions that seem to get churned up at this time of year. Bad sensations are the product of negative thoughts, which cause disruptive qi to manifest in your bones, muscles, organs and glands, according to TCM.
If your mind is full of…. then your body will feel it in the….
self criticism head
irritation at someone you love sinuses
resentment jaw
stubbornness and inflexibility neck
thinking life is a burden shoulders
feeling unloved upper back
guilt middle back
fear of losing money lower back
fear of what may or may not happen hips
stubborn pride knees
anxiety stomach and spleen
bitterness heart
anger/depression liver
fear kidney
Be happy and healthy this Holiday Season!
