The Mystery of Chi
In 2009 the DVD was released of an excellent series first shown on PBS in 1993 called Healing and the Mind. The first part of this series was called The Mystery of Chi. The award winning journalist Bill Moyers accompanied Dr David Eisenberg from Harvard Medical School on a visit to Beijing and Shanghai in China to study the healing powers of qi (chi). The outcome was a one hour program which did a great job of covering all aspects of qi. This is now available on You Tube so I thought I would show it to you here over the next few weeks.. It is split into six ten minute segments: here’s the first.
Part One takes the viewer into a traditional herbal pharmacy in a large hospital in Beijing. Here we learn that dried gecko decreases cough and relieves sputum; and that ginseng increases qi and might help hair grow!!!
