    Leftover tea?

We all know that drinking tea has wonderful health benefits. But have you ever brewed a pot and wondered what to do with any leftover tea or the tea leaves when you are finished? Well, here are some possible uses, which I found courtesy of Chinaculture.org. Some more unusual than others……..

    • Make tea leaf boiled eggs. Use black tea, any kind. Boil the eggs, break the eggshell gently and place back in boiling water along with tea leaves. The taste of the tea will soak into the eggs.
    • Dry brewed tea leaves in the sun and use to make a small pillow. This will help to keep you clear headed.

    • Burn brewed, dried tea leaves to keep mosquitos away.
    • If you grow herbs, add brewed tea leaves to the soil to give them more nutrients. Or water the plants.
    • Use as a food coloring in foods and drinks. Chemical free!
    • Black tea can be used to make milk candy.
    • If you suffer from a skin fungal infection such as ringworm, soak your feet in concentrated tea to sterilize and cure the condition. Be patient, it takes time!
    • Gargle with strong tea or chew on the tea leaves to get rid of bad breath. Use green tea as a mouth wash, it’s full of natural fluoride.
    • Tea will nourish your hair if used as a shampoo.
