This common yoga stretch (the butterfly) works on stimulating energy along the heart and small intestine meridians in the shoulders, arms and chest area.
Sit on the floor with soles of feet together in front of you, knees bent. Grasp your toes to gently bring the feet closer to the body.
Bend forward as you exhale, stopping at your own limit in the stretch. Focus on releasing tension in the arms as you inhale and exhale three times. Relax.
This stretch also works on inner thighs, groin, hips and knees for the prevention of arthritis.
