Update on the Pit Bulls Rescued from Michael Vick

I just saw this posted on the ASPCA’s Facebook page and had to share it. It comes from Parade magazine and gives an update on some of the rescues from Michael Vick’s dog fighting scandal. I had the pleasure of treating the third girl in, Harriet, with acupuncture for four or five sessions. She was such a sweetheart. I’m a firm believer that although these dogs are very strong, they are big piles of mush. It takes an incredible amount of abuse and torture to make these dogs “fighters.” The fact that most of dogs in the slide show are now well adjusted and loving their new adopted lives is a testament to their spirit. It’s funny that no one seems to remember these days but back in the 1920’s and 30’s this breed was known as “the babysitter!” If you are looking for a dog, please think about adoption and please don’t let a negative image deter you from a great addition to your family.
