The heart meridian controls the mind spirit, blood, blood vessels and circulation of blood. Massaging the heart (yin) meridian can help rebalance qi flow, as well as calm emotions. Try it for any of the following conditions: fatigue, dizziness, heart palpitations, angina, shortness of breath, restlessness, absentmindedness, insomnia.
The heart meridian starts in the center of the axilla center on the radial side of the arm and ends at the tip of the little finger.
The small intestine meridian is the (yang) mate to the heart meridian. It is in control of taking nutrients and energy from the food we eat. It deals with the following issues: integrity and self-acceptance, tendency to overwork, deep emotional sadness, anemia due to poor digestion, stiff neck, poor nutrient absorption.
The small intestine meridian starts near the corner of the nail on the ulnar side of the little finger and ends by the front of the center of the ear.
Apply gentle pressure as you massage down the arm using fingers, thumb or palm for the heart meridian; then massage up the arm, back of the shoulder and end at the ear for the small intestine meridian. Remember to massage both left and right meridians.
