Dental Root Canals and Chinese Medicine

For many years now there has been concern voiced by some of the medical and dental profession over the procedure known as a root canal, which is commonly carried out to save an otherwise dead tooth from extraction. It is thought that allowing the patient to keep something dead in his body can lead to a suppressed immune system.

Toxins are invariably used during a root canal treatment to sterilize the interior of the tooth and to fill the canal. As I have already mentioned in a previous post, each tooth is related in Chinese medicine to a meridian of qi energy. It would follow, therefore, that a root canal, or any deep filling or crown, will block qi from passing through the tooth, thus affecting the meridian and ultimately the organ connected to it. An example of this would be a front upper incisor. This relates to the kidney and bladder meridians. A root canal on this tooth may result in kidney and reproductive problems, impotence and sterility.

If you are questioning the ”root” cause of a health problem, then you may want to start looking in your mouth.
